Our Maps are many times better than any GPS. There are hundreds of "Places of Interest" on our maps that will never show up on any of the electronic or computer mapping services. Included are many places that have never been on a map before. We keep our maps up to date and are constantly searching out new places to help you enjoy your time as you explore the territory covered by our maps.
Our maps are not like any other map you may have seen and includes information that, in some cases, only the locals know about.
We have included areas in and near Blue Ridge, Hiawassee, Blairsville, Young Harris, Dahlonega, Helen, Suches, Clayton, Ellijay, Jasper, Lake Burton, Toccoa, Clarksville, Cleveland and Dillard in Georgia. Most maps are drawn at a scale that makes the details either hard to read or they have details missing completely. We draw our maps at a scale that allows us to include features like the ones described above. Since our maps are "Regional" we are not trying to include an entire state on one map. We also include neighboring states that touch the border of the region that is the focus of the map. We guarantee you have never seen a map like ours before.

Misty Meadow Studios is a Multi-Media Art Studio featuring a wide selection of Handmade Regional Maps, Original Fine Art Artworks and Handcrafted "Live Edge" Frames.
My wife, Jeanne, and I have been Artists all of our lives and have been in Art related businesses most of our 35 years of marriage. When we moved to the mountains of Western North Carolina several years ago I soon realized that many people do not know about many of the great places and things that these less developed mountainous regions have to offer. I decided to do something about it, and found a way to help people find out more about these regions and how to locate some of the many interesting things to see and do in the mountains.
I have had a life long love of Geography and Topography and have a natural talent for remembering lots of details about roads and interesting places. This decision to create a map placed me in a position to combine this interest with my artistic skills to create a New and Unique Map for the region. I also decided that this Map would be like no other map that is currently available anywhere. As an artist I knew that I could design and make almost anything that I wanted. My initial goal was to create a comprehensive map that would go far beyond any map that I had ever seen. I wanted the map to be a source of valuable information that will guide visitors and locals alike to all kinds of new and interesting places and things that they might not have known about before. I spent more than 9 months doing the research and working out how to do it, and to hand drawing the first map using more than 200 sources of information. Finally, after hundreds of hours of work I completed our map of North East Georgia and soon began distributing it in July 2009. The response from the public has been more rewarding than I expected. Since then I have created two more maps, one of Western North Carolina and one of South East Tennessee and am currently working on another.

'Live Edge' Oak - Hand Painted 'Bears' Frame (SOLD)
Our Maps are also available mounted and framed in “Live Edge” Natural Wood Frames. These frames are created from wood that has been harvested and milled into slabs that have the bark of the tree intact along the outer edge of the wooden planks. These frames are sometimes created from Oak, Poplar, Pine, Maple, Walnut and other woods as they are available. Each frame is unique and one-of-a-kind. Jeanne then selects from these frames then add her painting talents to them. Examples of her work can be found here in the picture to the left.
